Data Deletion Policy

Knohow Data Deletion Policy 

Knohow’s Data Deletion Policy is aligned with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We strongly recommend that users review these documents to understand the implications of account termination and data deletion. This policy outlines the procedures for deleting user data upon request, or when an account is terminated due to non-compliance with our Terms of Service or non-payment of service fees.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all personal data collected, processed, or stored by Knohow, including data gathered through our mobile and web platforms.

2. Types of Data Covered

  • User Account Information: Includes name, email address, phone number, legal information, and other personal details provided during account creation.

  • Appointment Information: Details related to appointment requests and confirmations between Knohow Pros and Members.

  • Content Posted: Photos and videos uploaded to a user’s account.

  • Communications: Messages exchanged between Knohow Pros and Members, and between Knohow users and Knohow

  • Transaction Information: Records of financial transactions between Knohow Pros and Members and between Knohowusers and Knohow.  Knohow does not retain credit card information provided to third-party payment processors.

3. Data Deletion Requests

Users can request data deletion at any time by contacting our customer support team through the Knohow mobile app or website. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will verify the requester's identity to ensure the security of personal data.

4. Deletion Process

  • User Account Information: Upon receipt of a valid deletion request, we will deactivate the user’s account and delete all associated personal information, including account details and preferences.

  • Appointment Information: Data related to bookings will be anonymized or deleted based on specific circumstances and legal requirements.

  • Content Posted: Photos and videos uploaded by the user to their account will be deleted.  Copies of photos or videos that you made publicly viewable to other users will not be deleted.

  • Communications: Messages sent through Knohow’s platform will be removed from active databases. However, due to technical constraints, some residual copies may remain in backup systems temporarily before they are overwritten and deleted.

  • Transaction Information: Records of transactions related to the terminated user account will be deleted.

5. Retention Periods

We retain user data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in our Privacy Policy or as required by applicable laws and regulations. Once the retention period expires, we securely delete or anonymize the data to prevent reconstruction or recovery.

6. Exceptions

  • Legal Obligations: We may retain certain information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

  • Anonymized Data: Data that has been anonymized and cannot be used to identify individuals may be retained for analytical purposes indefinitely.

7. Updates to this Policy

This Data Deletion Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our data processing practices or legal requirements. Significant changes will be communicated to users through our website or other appropriate channels.
